Dear Mr. President, Sir; I am writing you out of concern over things you supposedly said about taking guns without due process; and banning certain accessories, specific semi-automatic rifles and handguns in agreement, in essence with Senator Diane Feinstein, D. of California. I supported you when you ran for the office of President and voted for you and have been very pleased with your performance as President thus far. As a member of the National Rifle Association, I was happy to see a man of principal ready to stand against alarmist gun grabbers the likes of Ms. Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Charles Schumer, and others, this you have proven not to be! May I be so rude as to remind you that the amendments to our country's constitution are the called the "Bill of Rights," for a reason. The second amendment was not written to protect hunting and hunters, but all citizens from a government out of control, it was written that tyranny not over take us and transform us from citizens to subjects! Let us think with our heads, not our hearts. As a veteran of the Viet-Nam war, I wrote that blank check to this government, to defend and protect our way of life, where ever, I was stationed and what ever I was asked to do; For me that has been and still is a life long commitment. I implore you Mr. President, not to abandon your base of supporters, and give into the leftists, hell bent on making this wonderful country, we both love, into another Venezuela! Please reconsider, what I think was a compassionate, but rash decision on your part. Or I will be forced to support someone else the next election cycle. Thank you for letting me vent.
